  • ZEAL Chapter member grants!

ZEAL Grant Offerings to Chapter Members

One of the strategic goals of Sigma is to “Promote and celebrate nursing scholarship, leadership, and service worldwide.” At ZEAL, support of scholarship is promoted several ways. The chapter honors the discovery of new knowledge and the application of evidence-based practice through our biannual chapter events. Another way we are expanding this is through our chapter grants program

There are now three different types of grants being offered, of up to $500 each per grant applicant. Applicants for multiple grants may only be awarded $500 total. These grants will be available twice a year with the first round available September-October and the next round February-March.

The first of these is a Research Grant which encourages research and quality improvement projects by qualified Sigma nurses and/or nursing students who are learning to conduct research to advance knowledge in an area of nursing science. Learn more.

The second opportunity is the Academic Scholarship which recognizes outstanding academic scholarship by qualified Sigma nurses that will advance knowledge in the area of nursing science and practice. The scholarships will be awarded to individuals who are actively enrolled in a qualified nursing graduate or certification program and are current ZEAL Chapter members. Learn more.

The Project Dissemination Travel Grant is intended for ZEAL Chapter members to support presentations of professional work at educational and scholarly conferences.  The award may be used to support transportation, conference registration fee, and hotel costs at a nursing conference, sponsored by a national nursing organization or one of its chapters. Learn more.

There are details and instructions on how to apply and any restrictions that may be imposed for each of the grants on the application.
